Detailed Objective: This study reviews the scientific basis for methods currently employed in the dietary risk assessment of individuals for eligibility to participation in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). The study also will evaluate, to the extent possible, other methods proposed to assess inadequate diets, including food consumption behavior patterns that may be of use in predicting inadequate and inappropriate diets.
