Detailed Objective: The project investigates effects of the School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program on participants' food security and nutrition outcomes using both clinical and interview data.
Using data from the Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES III), this research will examine the effect of school meals on student health. In particular, the research analyzes the blood content of school age children, differentiating between students surveyed during the school year and those surveyed in the summer or winter breaks
