| Detailed Objective: The objectives of this cooperative research study are to (1) develop a refined econometric model to explain young adult's health outcomes as reflected in obesity, Body Mass Index (BMI), or weight for height, (2) develop a refined panel data set that has the potential for identifying causal relationships, (3) build upon previous FANRP work by augmenting National Longitudinal Survey of Youth (NLSY79) cohort with geo-coded information on local market conditions and other factors, (4) fit the model to refined panel data and prepare a summary with an interpretation of the results, and (5) develop a set of recommendations for future policies that would mitigate tendencies for obesity in adults. |
